Dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is Alive

by: J.R. • January 15, 2010

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was born on January 15, 1929. He would have been 81 years old. He was a great Civil Rights Activist, and he believed that everyone should be treated with equality. On Monday, we celebrate his life by observing a holiday in his honor. Thanks to multiple Civil Rights leaders we do not live in a segregated community. We are able to receive an equal education and learn about the diversity of others.

Five days after his birthday last year, Dr. King’s dream came true. On January 20, 2009 Barack Obama was inaugurated as the President of the United States of America– the first African-American in office. Over this past year President Barack Obama has received the Nobel Peace Prize in honor of his determination to have peace in Iraq. With President Barack Obama, Dr. King’s dream is very well alive!

Very outstanding article, it’s good to see the future generation taking time to not just learn about our history but understanding to the fact that they can communicate about it.

    Well done Javion.
