A special assembly was held in the Multi-Purpose Room this morning where the whole school gathered together to recognize all the St. Leo students who were the top sellers of the “World’s Finest Chocolate” candy sale fundraiser this year.
Mrs. Altheimer, along with the representative from World’s Finest and help from Ms. Grant, called all the students up to the front while they announced the awards they won.
The top seller in the whole school, from first grade, won a new iPod nano. The top selling class in the school was first grade, with $4200, earning the students a pizza party.
The top four students who sold the most will be taking a limousine ride out to lunch at the Elephant Bar with principal Mrs. Simril.
All the top sellers in the school, plus a few other students whose names were drawn from a basket, got a chance to go up on the stage into the “money booth” where for 15 seconds, whatever they could grab was theirs to keep.
The representative from World’s Finest told the students that 101 dollar bills ($101) would be thrown into the booth, along with a limited number of $5 bills and $10 bills. Mrs. Altheimer added some free dress passes into the mix.
The student body had just as much fun watching their fellow classmates win their prize money as the students inside the money booth did catching all those bills!
