The staff of “The Lion Ledger,” St. Leo the Great’s new online newspaper, was hard at work last week quietly debuting the website that will be home to student news about the school and news from outside the den (school).
What? We have a school newspaper? When did that happen, and why? You’ll find out the answers to these questions in the weeks to come.
8th grade editors Semhal G. and Andrea Granera are the students in charge of the operation, along with their advisor, Mr. Leo, the school’s technology coordinator (who is a professional freelance journalist outside of school) and other students on the team.
The Lion Ledger staff will be covering all corners of the school from student life to Lions sports, and topics from outside the school like entertainment news, local news, and others, in the “Outside the Den” section.
According to principal Mrs. Simril, this will be the first-ever school newspaper for St. Leo the Great.
